Please help me choose a size for my dog's collar?
I am ordering a collar and they tell me to measure my dog's neck however I do not have a measuring tape to do this. Which out of these sizes would work best on a malti-poo? She always gets groomed about every 6-8 weeks so her hair doesn't get overly long.
I can't decide between small and medium.

Just measure the dog's current collar with a ruler & you'll know what size to order. 
You can also take a ribbon or string, run it around the neck and then put that down next to a ruler and see the size, too.

Since nylon made its debut in the garment industry, it is extolled as perhaps one of the greatest inventions ever. Being flexible in nature, it constricts and expands to suit the need of its wearer. Lightweight yet durable, it poses as a perfect addition to one's wardrobe whether as hosiery or choker. Nylon dog collars make ideal accompaniments to one's doggy wardrobe as it is chic yet cheap. Coming in a variety of designs and colors, it suits all sizes and shapes of dogs. Personalized versions are easily and quickly made by a few clever stitches around the band. Many stores are willing to provide the service with minimal or no charge.
Normally these types of neck bands are made solely from non-metallic materials with the exception of a metal ring to be attached to a leash. Diameters can be changed based on the principle of adjustable straps which exist in most household items. Although there are numerous sizes available according to girth of the neck, a single collar may be sufficient for a dog's lifetime. A simple press of its plastic clasp easily releases the collar instead of having to fumble around with stiff straps and equally unyielding buckles. It also easily washes, dries and does not leave any odor, more commonly noticeable with its leather peers.
In spite of its great qualities, nylon dog collars do pose a potential hazard to the pets if not properly used. Due to its nature with adjustable straps, tethering a dog with such a collar to a tie-out may draw untoward problems. If the creature is relatively active in pacing about or running around a post, it may cause the collar to slowly tighten and constrict around its neck. This obviously impedes the animal's wellbeing, especially its respiratory functions.
These restrainers are available as flat versions or tubular type. The former is as its name suggest whereas the latter is also known as rolled nylon. Although they are similar in function, the tubular or rolled variety tends to catch less fur around the area as well as minimize the flat-hair syndrome.
